Kamehameha Schools, Hawaii Campus, St. Theresa and Mary Star of the Sea closed today, including any before and after school care programs.
Hawaiʻi Governor Josh Green announced the closure of all public schools and state campuses statewide for Monday, August 17, 2026, due to severe weather and emergency impacts from Hurricane/Tropical Storm Lala. Accordingly, all A+ programs will also be closed.
Due to widespread power outages and damage caused by Hurricane Lala, all Kama‘aina Kids preschools on O‘ahu and Maui will be temporarily closed. We understand this may create challenges for families, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to ensure the safety of our keiki, families, and staff. Additional updates will be shared as soon as they become available.
Please note that all A+ programs on Hawaii will be closed today, Friday August 14, 2026, as directed by the DOE Complex Area Superintendents. A+ will resume on Monday August 17, 2026.
Reported at 1:37 p.m. Hanalei Elementary School and A+ program is cancelled due to evacuation resulting from water level rising over the bridge
